About the Role

The Technical Training Lead will design and oversee and support the Wealthtime training programs, including the company induction, regulatory updates, and product/service training.

They will manage the Training and Competence scheme, ensure employees meet required competence levels, and implement a standardized training framework across some departments. The role involves supporting mandatory e-learning completion and guiding employees pursuing relevant external qualifications.

The outcome of this will be a competent, compliant workforce aligned with company values, driving improved performance, employee engagement, and operational efficiency.

Key Responsibilities:

Local Induction Program:

  • Work with the People Team to agree content and content owners for the Customer Experience Department (CSE, KAM, Complaints) local induction program for all new starters, including company culture, values, processes, and regulatory requirements. Also to measure and report on the effectiveness of any training delivered and ensure that all material is made centrally available through the intranet.

T&C Scheme Oversight and Administration:

  • Oversee the delivery and management of the company’s Training and Competence scheme, ensuring all team members meet the required competence standards, whilst supporting the overseers in the completing their obligations. Administer and monitor employee progress within the scheme.

Training Programme Framework including Knowledge Retention Testing:

  • Design and implement a consistent training programme framework for all departments across the business to utilise where required in building their own internal training plans, using standardised formats, methodologies, and documentation to maintain quality and compliance.  In addition, to manage and develop the current Knowledge Retention tools utilised within the business to ensure training provided is continually assessed and retained.

Management of e-Learning Program:

  • Provide oversight and management of the completion of mandatory e-learning programs, tracking progress and providing regular management information (MI) reports to relevant stakeholders.

Management of Milestone Scheme:

  • Provide oversight and management of the Wealthtime Milestone Scheme, ensuring timely review and submission to Payroll and associated reporting on progress

Regulatory Training Delivery:

  • Design and deliver a scheduled training programme, utilising material provided by the Risk and Compliance teams, including providing supporting material that ensures all employees remain up-to-date with relevant regulatory changes and compliance requirements, in conjunction with the e-Learning Program. 

Product and Services Training Delivery:

  • Provide ad-hoc training sessions focused on any new company products and services, utilising material provided by the Commercial team, to ensure all staff are knowledgeable and can perform their roles efficiently and effectively. To also train out to either all relevant departmental trainers and/or all relevant Wealthtime staff any and all new systems and/or upgrades as advised by our outsourcing company to ensure effective processing and service delivery. 

Support for External Qualifications & Management of Training Budget:

  • Provide support and guidance to employees pursuing externally sourced qualifications as to courses relevant to their roles, ensuring the policy is clearly followed and ensuring qualifications are appropriate and aligned with career progression plans.  In addition, have oversight of each departments training spend, ensuring this doesn’t exceed the departmental and/or company budget.  

Collaboration and Stakeholder Management:

  • Work closely with key stakeholders across departments and the Learning & Organisational Development partner, to support in the identification of training needs, ensure alignment with business goals, and support the continuous development of staff through internal and external training.

About You

Specialist Skills, Qualifications and Experience:

Essential:

  • Proven experience in a financial services training role within a regulated environment
  • Strong understanding of Consumer Duty and Vulnerable Customer regulations
  • Strong understanding of the Training and Competence (T&C) framework and regulatory requirements in the financial services sector.
  • Experience in designing and delivering training programs, both face-to-face and via e-learning platforms.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills with a strong understanding of different learning styles, and the ability to engage, interact and motivate learners at all levels.
  • A good understanding of financial products & services is essential.
  • Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines effectively.
  • Ability to provide clear and insightful MI reporting on training progress and outcomes.
  • Proactive, self-motivated, and able to work independently as well as part of a team.
  • Strong attention to detail, with a commitment to ensuring training is delivered to the highest standards.
  • Adaptable and comfortable with managing change in a fast-paced environment.
  • Passionate about employee development and continuous improvement.

Desirable:

  • Wrap platform knowledge and/or experience.
  • SIPP, Drawdown, GIA, ISA and/or Offshore Bond knowledge.
  • Financial Services qualifications
  • Knowledge of CASS rules and COBs rules.
  • Relevant qualifications in learning and development (e.g., CIPD or equivalent) are desirable
